Insurance companies in Ontario are offering a variety of options to assist customers who are experiencing financial stress due to COVID-19.
The most important thing to do if you have a change in your driving habits and/or are looking for a reduction in your premiums or flexible payment options is to reach out to us.
It’s important to start this process now, as very likely these programs will not be available retroactively.
Many, but not all, insurance providers are:
- Automatically rebating customers
- Providing the option of deferred payments
- Waiving non-sufficient funds charges for those unable to make payments, as well as a continuation of coverage during this time
- Offering to suspend coverage on vehicles which are not being driven, without penalty
- Amending policies to “pleasure use” for those driving less during this crisis
