Are you a parent with a young driver at home? If so, there are a few ways to save money on car insurance!
One of the best ways is to have them take a young driver’s training course. Most insurers will give them experience credit equivalent to three years of driving, which could result in a savings of up to five times the cost of the course. Just make sure you choose a course that is registered with the Ministry of Education or the Ministry of Transportation in order to get the most out of it.
Another way to save money is to add your young driver to your policy as soon as they get their G1 licence. Insurers usually don’t charge extra for this, and they’ll start building a good insurance history right away.
Finally, make sure you shop around for the best rate. Different carriers can charge vastly different rates for young drivers, so working with a broker to get the best rate is a must.
