The Importance of Sump Pumps
Sump pumps help keep basements and crawlspaces in homes dry and their importance can not be overstated.

Water from the home's weeping tiles or basement waterproofing system is pumped into the sump basin. Once the water reaches a certain level, the water is pumped out.

Sump pumps are often hardwired into the electrical system of a house, and some have a  back-up pump (either battery or water-powered) in case of a power failure.

Sump pumps should be checked once yearly to ensure their continuing functionality. The life expectancy of a sump pump is 5 to 15 years - and the only time you'll likely know that your sump pump has failed is when the damage is done! Annual maintenance is recommended!
